Post term pregnancy

If you are still pregnant at the issued date of term, you need to have a consultation at this term date or term date +1 day.

You will meet a midwife who will monitor your baby (record of its heartbeat) for at least 20 minutes.

During this exam, the midwife will check with you term date as well as if there is any pathology. Your blood pressure will be checked, as well as your urine. A vaginal check and ultrasound can also be realized.

If no pathology is detected, you will have another consultation planned, and induction labor can be suggested.

If any obstetrical abnormalities are detected, your obstetrician will be informed in order to decide the follow up.
Induction labor modalities will be explained par your doctor according to the situation and your cervix dilatation.

Those over full term consultations may be quite long; it is recommended not to come with other young children.
